Charging a Tesla in Nevada
$35 a month at 12.77¢ per kWh

$35 a month. That's what 1,000 miles in a Model Y Long Range AWD costs on Nevada's average home electricity price of 12.77¢ per kWh (July 2026, EIA). That's 30% below the US average and the 2nd cheapest of 51 (50 states plus DC), so Nevada is one of the cheapest places in the country to charge at home. Prices are up 3.1% from 12.39¢ in July 2025, so the same driving costs $1.04 more a month than a year ago.

EV vs gas in NevadaRegular gas at $5.07 a gallon, week of Oct 12, 2026.

Gas price is from the EIA West Coast less California average (EIA has no separate weekly series for Nevada). Savings compare each car to the Model Y Long Range AWD above over 12 months.

Gas carPer 100 miPer monthModel Y saves / yr
Toyota Camry Hybrid LE (51 MPG)$9.94$99$772

Honda Accord 1.5T (32 MPG)$15.85$158$1,480
Honda CR-V 1.5T (30 MPG)$16.90$169$1,607

Even against a 51 MPG Camry Hybrid, the Model 3 Standard wins here: $3.10 vs $9.94 per 100 miles. Gas would have to fall to $1.58 a gallon for the hybrid to tie.

Before you trust the average: 12.77¢ is what Nevada homes paid on average, fees included. Your bill shows your real rate; divide the total by the kWh used. Supercharging usually costs more than home power, so road trips will run above these numbers.
