Home chargers
three I'd actually buy
I checked every price on Amazon on Oct 19, 2026. One pick per kind of garage. Match your car's plug and your outlet, and that's your charger.
Before you buy
Circuit. Each needs its own 240V circuit, and the breaker should be 25% bigger than the charger's amps. A 40A charger wants a 50A breaker; a 48A one wants 60A.
Which plug. Teslas and a growing list of newer EVs use NACS. Most other EVs use J1772. A J1772 charger still works on a Tesla with a J1772 adapter.
Plug or hardwire. Already have a NEMA 14-50 outlet in the garage? The Grizzl-E just plugs in. The other two are hardwired, so the electrician quote matters as much as the price here.
Why no Tesla Wall Connector? It's the obvious Tesla pick, but on Amazon today it only shows resellers marking it up, so I'm not linking it. Buy that one straight from Tesla.
Is it worth it? Run your own numbers first. The calculator shows what charging costs you each month.
